State Convention 2012
(01/05/2012) It may seem a little early to be planning next year's State Convention but it's November already and annual leave scheduling is just around the corner. Many locals must block convention weeks in order to guarantee their delegates attendance.
The Indiana Postal Workers Union is the proud host for next years meeting. A special location has been selected to help locals save money and send as many delegates as possible. The location, Brown County State Park, offers very reasonably priced sleeping and meeting rooms in the Abe Martin Lodge. The lodge has a full service restaurant, gift shop, two lobbies, and a game room. Additionally, the lodge has a 12,000 square foot Aquatic Center with fountains, water volleyball and basketball, and a whirlpool with a waterfall. Brown County State Park is the only park, state or national, featuring a waterpark. Stretching out over 15, 000 acres, Brown County is Indiana's largest park, known nationally for it's many hiking trails and the amazing fall foliage in October.
Close to the park is Nashville, a mecca for those who love arts, crafts and antiques. With over 350 shops and attractions in the downtown area, the city offers something for everyone.
The meeting is scheduled for April 12-14. Room rates are $79/night for a Lodge room and $62/night for Rustic Cabins. Room reservations may be made by calling 812-988-4418 or by visiting www.indianainns.com and using the group code 0411PW. The room reservation deadline is March 10, 2012.
Delegate registration forms will be mailed out and placed on the Indiana Postal Workers Union website. Make your plans now for a great convention.
