BILL TO SUPPORT POSTAL WORKERS INTRODUCED

HR 4236 has been introduced into Congress to deal with the sub-contracting of APWU bargaining work to the private sector. This is the first APWU sponsored bill to go to the House of Representatives and, if passed into law, would protect our bargaining unit work from being contracted out.

The American people deserve their mail system to be protected by law as a public service. There is a level of trust between the public and United States Postal Service workers; a level that would not exist if this work was performed by private sector, low wage, non-union employees.

All members are urged to contact their elected representatives and request they become co-sponsors of this bill. In your letters please request that your congressperson reply to you with their position.

Many members have responded, but more are needed.  Our elected representatives are starting to here the call, and responded.  Do your part NOW.

Remember, HR 4236 PROTECTS work for our brothers & sisters.
